April 13th, 2008 Andy and the team bounce back strong with a second place finish at Caraway!
Sophia, NC – Andy
Seuss and the Riggs Racing team showed their true character Saturday
night after a disappointing finish Friday night at Ace Speedway. Driving
a car that had not been raced since last September at Ace, Andy and the
team unloaded the Riggs Racing backup car, a 1996 Troyer chassis and
qualified sixth fastest in Coors Light Pole qualifying. The
redraw would launch Andy to the front row with an outside pole starting
position alongside former Riggs Racing team mate, John Smith. Andy
and John would exchange the lead back and forth in the early laps
before Andy finally took command on lap 5 and would open a sizable
lead with John in tow. A late race caution for a Jason
Myers spin would give a hard charging Brian Loftin the opportunity he
needed to challenge for the win. Andy would come home second, followed by Frank Fleming, George Brunnhoelzl, III and Burt Myers. With
his finish Saturday night, Andy leaps from eleventh in the NASCAR
Whelen Southern Modified Tour point standings to ninth, 102 markers out
of the lead. The team returns to Caraway Speedway next
Saturday night for another 150 lap event. This will be the final event
for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour before the "Spring Break."
